The Magic of a Midi Dress..

Feel that you are too short for a maxi dress…or don’t fancy wearing a mini? Let us help you find your new favourite length…in the midi dress. A style so loved by it’s fans that it is sometimes called ‘The Hero Dress’!

Sitting somewhere between the knee and ankle, falling a little higher than a maxi, the mid length hemline has been a fashion favourite for a few season’s now.

While we do love a midi skirt, the dress is the easiest way to try the trend, particularly because they can work for almost any occasion. Think work, evening, weekend or even occasion wear dressing. Whatever event it is that you are after, there is a midi dress to suit.

For the last days of summer, don’t be afraid to indulge in bright colours and bold prints. Channel this season’s other favourite trend, the 1970’s, and go for something printed, feminine and floaty.

Though if you are worried that a printed or colourful dress is for summer days only, think again. A midi dress can easily become a cornerstone of your transitional wardrobe too.

A long sleeved dress will of course see you through the seasons, but there is no need to banish scrappy styles until the good weather comes back. The key is to layer them over white t shirts or perhaps a black polo neck…that way you can rock your favourite maxi dress all year long!

The other wonderful thing about midi dresses is that they work with pretty much every kind of shoe. Whether you love to wear your converse all year round, jump at the chance to treat yourself to new boots every Autumn or are never without your favourite heels, the midi dress will look fab however you style it.

While the current weather might mean that you can just about get away with wearing your midi dress on it’s own or perhaps with a leather jacket, it is only a matter of weeks before we are going to have to think about winter coats….the good news is that a midi dress looks very chic worn under heavy coats. Opting for a coat with a hemline that is an inch or two shorter than your dress is a nice touch, that will allow you to flaunt your frock even when temperatures plummet.
